MUA Lipstick Review

Hello everyone!
Recently I found myself wandering around superdrug (again) and I stumbled across the MUA stand. Their lipsticks are only £1 each! How good is that? Bloody fantastic I say! There are 16 shades all together but I only bought 3. I was planning on trying them out before I bought anymore. I will be buying them again though, they are brilliant. I will swatch the ones I got at the end!
Anyway, I bought shades 03, 06 and 15.

From left to right the shades are; 06, 15 and 03
For £1 the pigmentation is incredible. The good thing about these is that if you don't like them it doesn't matter too much as they are so cheap. The only bad thing I can say about these lipsticks is the fact that they're not named. Only the last 2 or 3 in the collection are. As you can see they each come with a little pot of lip balm type stuff too. Its in exactly the same shade as the lipstick which is so helpful. It makes your lips feel so moisturised and soft. All you do is twist them off at the bottom and there you go! Great huh?

Shade '03'
Shade '03', it looks pinker than it is... when you swatch it, it actually comes out more red. I've been looking for a bright lipstick recently because I'm always told that I'd suit it better than I think. Its the perfect colour for a 'pin-up' makeup look. The point is, if I decide that I don't suit it, I'm not bothered because it was only a pound! I'll probably give it to someone else to be honest... it's better to give it to someone else and have them use it than it be in my makeup drawer for all eternity, right?
Shade '06'

So this is shade '06' and it is a darker pink. If you don't like shimmer on your lips then stay away from this one, as it is very shimmery. I personally think this colour suits most skin types, as you can build it up to be as subtle or as strong as you like.

Shade '15 Juicy'
The last one I got and my personal favourite, is shade 15 'Juicy'. As I mentioned before there are only a few that have names and this one is one of them. I would love it if they all had cute little names, but for £1 I can't really complain. I'm never normally one for corals, but I am in love with this shade. I'll be buying corals more often now! Like all of them, I cannot get over how pigmented they are and how much they're sold for. Not that I'm complaining or anything....

Here are the swatches, as promised.
The swatches! Aren't they beautiful!
Next time you're in superdrug (or anywhere that you can get MUA makeup from!) I would seriously recommend you pick these up. You can't get good lipstick any cheaper.

I hope you enjoyed this mini-review.
I'll do them more often!
Thanks for reading!

Birthday Makeup Haul

Hey Guys!
It was my birthday a few days ago, and i got given plenty of makeup. So i thought I'd do a review/haul of everything i got.

1) The first thing I got was the Urban Decay Naked Palette. I have used it... so excuse the fact that the shadows aren't all neat and perfect anymore. I love how wearable the colours are! I've said this before but I'm a neutrals girl, but recently I've been using a bit more colour. For example the dark blue on the very end of the palette called 'gunmetal' is a favourite of mine from the palette. The shadows themselves are very pigmented and are easy to blend.
The palette comes with 2 little primer potions by Urban Decay and those are actually really good too! I wasn't expecting the primer to be brilliant to be honest, but it is very good indeed. I really like the packaging as it is velvet and it makes the palette feel very... luxurious. The only fault i can find on the palette would be that because it is velvet, as time goes on things will stick to it and it will be harder to keep clean. I'm going to try so hard to make sure that doesn't happen though!
There are a few matte colours in the palette but most of them are shimmery/glittery. Some of you might not like that but i love shimmery shadows. I like the matte ones to blend in my crease. You could also use them for your brows but they are too light for mine! Other than that, I am in love with it. I would recommend it to anyone!

2) The second thing i got were these real techniques brushes. I already had the expert face brush, but i got given the purple ones. I put these on my wish list so i am so happy that i got them! I'm not disappointed either - I love them! The only bad thing i will say is the deluxe crease brush is so big! It's too big for my eyelids, so i use it for buffing in concealer. They're not expensive either, i think they're totally worth buying.

3) Benefit they're real! Mascara. I've had this before, and i love it. In fact, i love it so much that when my old one ran out i kept the wand because it seemed to do a better job than any other mascara i have. Is that sad? Oh well. I have a new one now. It makes my lashes look so long and full without any clumps whatsoever. I cannot stress how amazing this mascara is - if you have it, you'll know what I'm talking about. Before i had this, my favourite mascara was maybelline 'the falsies', but that comes nowhere near close to this. A little goes a long way with this and it lasts so long! I even have trouble getting it off sometimes! That is the sign of a great mascara.

4) Next is the Naked 2 Palette by Urban Decay. Like the first one, i am very much in love. This one has a bigger mirror, which is very helpful. The palette smells like mint - not something i look for when buying eyeshadow but it is a nice bonus! The palette has 12 shadows, 3 of which are matte. This palette has what the first one lacks, a matte black! Everyone needs a matte black.
One problem i have with this is that 'Half baked' (the shimmery gold) is repeated. It was also in the first palette. It is however my most used colour in the first palette so in the long run it'll be helpful to have a back-up. The palette comes with a little lip junkie in the shade 'naked' (of course!) which is the perfect size to throw in your bag and use throughout the day. It makes my lips feels all tingly and minty and i love it. I don't think I'd buy a full-size one though, only because the colour isn't that strong. Its just a nice little addition to the palette. Unlike the first one, the packaging on this palette is a metally-tin type material. (I have no clue how to describe it) This means that it'll be easier to keep clean and it feels more expensive. Even though both palettes cost the same. This palette comes with a double sides brush, a flat shader on one side and a crease brush on the other. The first palette only had a flat shader brush. That's helpful for travelling with.

5) This is something I've been meaning to buy for AGES. I've heard zoella talk about this blush trio from sleek 'lace' , and my friend Sally also has it. Its so beautiful! I only have one other sleek blush which is in the shade 'pixie pink'.  If you were to buy them individually i think they come to just under £5. That is so cheap considering how pigmented they are. Only a little bit is needed to add colour to the cheeks. The shades are (from left to right) : Crochet, Guipure and Chantilly.

6) Next is this contour and blush kit from sleek. Again - AMAZING quality and pigmentation. This is in the shade 'light'. The blush is in the colour 'Guipure'. I can't say I've owned that many highlighters before... but this one has made me want to go out and buy them. Its fantastic! The contouring powder is also amazing -  you can build it up, and if you add too much its easy to blend so you don't look muddy. The blush is the same colour as the middle one in my 'lace' blush trio (mentioned above) and i love that.

Overall I'm very happy with everything i got for my birthday. I would happily re-purchase everything over and over again. Obviously as these things were gifts, i didn't look up the prices of them. I'd feel really bad if they were expensive - especially the naked palettes! So I've avoided looking up prices. I apologise for that. You'll just have to do some intense googling.

Thanks for reading!
See you next time!
Bye!

My Makeup Wishlist!

Hey Guys!

So I thought i'd do my makeup wishlist today. My friend Sally inspired me to do this post. You can find her wishlist HERE
Anyway, I am a college student. I don't have a job, which means I can't afford most of these makeup items. But i thought it would be fun if i listed 10 things i wish i owned.
Enough rambling, i hope you enjoy!

1) Item number one is this mac eyeshadow called 'woodwinked'. I first came across this in Tanya Burr's 'Birthday makeup tutorial' video. Its a gorgeous gold colour that darkens as you blend it through the crease. How amazing is that? I'm a big neutrals girl, and this colour isn't too dramatic.
It retails at £12.50

2) The next item is this beautiful blush by estee lauder in 'tease'. As far as i'm aware, this was limited edition and is no longer available. This is partly the reason why it's on my wishlist. Its so gorgeous. I love really pinky blush, its not too bright and over the top, its a subtle pink (For me anyway!). I hope this comes back soon, I think estee lauder were stupid to make it limited edition. Its not particularly 'high end', so when it does come back, i shall be buying it! Unfortunately because it is limited edition, i have no idea how much it costs.

3) Real techniques makeup brushes. I know these aren't high end, and you can buy them in the drug store, but i haven't got round to buying them yet. I have the expert face brush and i love it. So i'd like to have the rest of them in my possession. From what i've heard, they're soft and easy to work with. Not much else to say about that really... only that I really want them. I'm not entirely sure how much they cost. Sorry!

4) Mac vanilla pigment. Now, i heard about this from Zoella. I am in need of a decent highlighter, and this one fits the bill perfectly. You can use it for your brow highlight, your cheek bones, anything you want really! I just think its a brilliant little product and I look forward to the day when i can have it in my collection. It retails for £17.00

  5) next is erase paste by benefit. This stuff is amazing. You know when you are putting mascara on your bottom lashes and you smudge some on your eye? Then theres that whole bother of wiping it off, re-concealing etc? Well with this, you just put this over the top of the mascara smudge and it gets rid of it! That's a life saver for me, as i'm left handed (therefore useless at everything) and i'm always smudging my mascara. It would just save time, and it looks like nothing has happened. It retails at £19.50

6) Next on my wishlish is the stila 'in the light' palette. Like i said, i love neutral colours, and i think this would be the perfect palette to carry around with you, or to take on holiday or a weekend away etc. Theres a quote on the cover "believe in the beauty of the future". How adorable! I don't want the palette for the quote though. It even comes with a smudge stick worth £19.00, when the whole palette comes to £25.00. Thats a huge bargain! I've been told the shadows themselves are highly pigmented, which is what i look for in a palette. I hate chalky eyeshadows!

7) This pretty lipstick by mac in the shade 'chatterbox'. I just think its beautiful and not to bright. I used to stick to only nude lipsticks, but recently i've been going out of my comfort zone and using a bit more colour. I think this is the perfect shade for me, as its not to 'in your face'. I know it looks bright here but if you look at swatches of it, it's really not that bad. I can't get over how pretty it is!
It retails for £15.00.

8) Next is the nars sheerglow foundation. I've heard so many people rave about this foundation. Zoella and Tanya burr both use it, and it makes them look so flawless. I don't have particularly bad skin, so i don't need masses of coverage, but when i do have bad days i'd love to try it out. As so many people have talked about this and said nothing bad about it, i'm sure i'll love it. The only thing stopping me is the price really... Its £30.50.

9) Next is yet another mac eyeshadow. 'Cranberry' is such a lovely colour. As i'm so into neutrals, i've been trying to branch out and try other colours. This is a deep pink/red colour, and i think it would be great for the fall/winter months. Its just so beautiful, and again not to bright. So i think i'll be safe on that front!
Again, it costs £12.50

10) The very last thing on my makeup wishlist is this amazing blush by nars called 'orgasm'. Now, the name is strange. partly the reason why i want it to be honest... i just love the idea of people coming up to me and asking me what i'm wearing on my cheeks and me replying oh-so-casually "oh, its orgasm". It makes me chuckle... weird i know.
Anyway, i think the colour is beautiful. Its a slightly more subtle pink that i'd normally go for (my current favourite blush is 'pixie pink' by sleek and that one is SO bright). It costs £21.50.

That's it for my makeup wishlist guys, i hope you enjoyed it!
I would've put the urban decay naked and naked 2 palettes on there, but since i'm getting those for my birthday in 2 weeks I didnt see the point. (expect a review on those!)

See you soon!
