Collection 'Work The Colour' Eyebrow Kit Review!

Hello!

Firstly, I must apologize for my lack of posts. I've been busy with exams and such recently.
About a month ago I found myself in town with an hour to kill. Naturally, I wondered into boots to see if there was anything new and I came across this beauty:

Collection Eyebrow Kit - £3.99 Boots
I was instantly drawn in by the packaging, not the best looking but it is sturdy and secure meaning it's perfect for travelling.
I'm always on the lookout for new eyebrow products as I can never seem to find the perfect shade for me and I cannot stand eyebrow pencils. Everyone else who uses them seems to suit the look really well and it looks great! But when I attempt an eyebrow pencil it looks like I've drawn two lines with a sharpie. Not a great look! So I tend to opt for powder.

Another thing that got my attention with this product is the fact that it comes with a clear mascara. At first I was impressed with it, however I'm not a big fan of the wand. It almost looks like the wand is too big for the bottle so when you try and get the wand out, all the product is scraped off in the process. I suppose this is good in that it removes any excess product, but you're lucky if you get any product at all to be honest. That being said, the kit was only £3.99 so I guess it's not bad for the price.

The kit also comes with a little double-ended brush, one end being angled and the other being a flat shader. I'm going to be honest- I haven't really used the brush. Maybe I will at some point, but I tend to reach for other brushes instead.

The actual colours in this kit I think are very good: Pigmented and blendable. As I said, I have such a hard time finding the perfect eyebrow shade and each of these colours on their own are not right. However, I've been mixing the two darker shades together and this seems to be the perfect shade for me! Eureka! Finally, the perfect shade that matches my hair. As for the lightest shade, I'll probably just use that as an eyeshadow as there is no way i'll get that to look right in my brows. The shadows themselves are huge, which means you won't be running out in a hurry.

Overall, I adore this little product and I will definitely repurchase it when it runs out (which won't be for a long time hopefully!). For £3.99 you can't go wrong, I would recommend this to anyone!

Have you tried it? What did you think? Let me know!

Thankyou for reading!

Someday Summary - Wednesday

Hello!

I had no idea of what to post today, I just knew that I wanted to post something. Enter another someday summary!

FOTD
♥ Today for eyeshadow I used 'half baked' from Urban Decay but I also put a bit of 'Rose Gold' blush by Sleek on top... I have no idea why but I kind of love it.

♥ It's not too obvious but it adds a bit of colour to the eye without just the gold. Does that make any sense? It also made my eyes look more green!
♥ I've been procrastinating like crazy recently - I should be revising for my A level exams. What am I actually doing? Playing sims 3. (no regrets)
♥ Current favourite song is 'Find my way' by The Gabe Dixon Band
♥ I think I may FINALLY have gotten the hang of winged liner. It takes practice but once it's done it looks so good. It's my go-to look!
♥ I'm still obsessed with Sherlock... I just bought series three on DVD and it's all i've been watching.
♥ I recently tried out the Maybelline Baby Skin 'Instant pore eraser' Primer and I've got to say that I really love it! I only apply it on my cheeks because that's where I find that my pores are most noticeable, and it does a really good job of blurring them!
♥ The weather has been so amazing in the UK recently. Sunny weather makes me happy! Spring is finally here!

The eye look with a red lip

I know this post was boring and I apologize, but I wanted to post something but I had no idea what.

If you've read this far, thankyou! It means the world!

Favourite lip combo of the moment!

Howdy!

I think I mentioned before that I recently bought myself the MUA velvet lip laquer in 'Reckless' and how obsessed with it I am.
Recently I've been into wearing a dark lip with every kind of eye look I do. I've had quite a few compliments when I've worn this particular lip combo so I thought I'd share it!

I've been using the Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick in 'Starry Eyed' first. Just because that color is what gives me the vampy red as opposed to a bright red, like the laquer. The reason I put the laquer on top is just because it's matte and I find that means it makes the lipstick last longer.. that could just be me, I'm not sure.

Left: Rimmel
Right: MUA
As you can see, the Rimmel lipstick is much more glossy than the MUA one but that's a given - the MUA one is matte. They don't look like much here individually but trust me - together they are amazing!

Do excuse the picture quality - I stole this from my instagram (link above)
The other day I went out shopping with some friends (Including Sally who's beauty blog is great. *hint hint*) and I wore the combo then. As you can see I wore quite a neutral eye. I think I used half baked and buck from the naked palette. Doing that meant more emphasis on the lips. I found that the products lasted ages on my lips, I only had to touch-up once and that was just because we went to KFC (i got too excited there, the lipstick went everywhere!).
From this picture you can see that the two of them together create a much darker lip that the swatches individually.

Just for comparison, here is a picture from the other night when I was wearing just the MUA laquer on it's own:
The laquer is very bright, which is not normally my thing
I have been loving this lip combo and I'm sure I'll continue to love it until something else comes along. I hope that's not too soon.... I'm not over this one yet!

FOTD: MUA luxe palette smokey eye!

Hello!

Recently I made a cheeky purchase on the MUA website. I picked up the 'Pretty Edgy' palette from the Luxe collection and one of the velvet lip laquers in 'Reckless'.

The laquer is incredibly pigmented but one thing I will say is that it takes ages to get off! I was scrubbing away at my lips trying to get it off, nothing was happening! If you want a long lasting lip product - this is for you!
The actual colour is beautiful and I think i'm in love.

As soon as the palette arrived in the post I couldn't wait to start playing with it! The shadows themselves are very pigmented, as usual for MUA, for the price (the palette was £8) and the packaging makes it feel so much more luxurious. The packaging floats my boat immensely - the gold studs are sophisticated and beautiful and the black means it's easy to keep clean. Lovely!

As I was so excited, I decided to go and create a look straight away!
This is what I came up with:

I fancied something dramatic, with a red lip. I'm not normally one for bright red lips, so a dark vampy one suits me perfectly. I had recently treatd myself to a new rimmel lipstick too - might as well put it to use!

As for the actual look, heres what I used!

♥ Rimmel 'Wake me up' Foundation
♥ Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer
♥ MUA brow kit
♥ Maybelline Color Tattoo in 'Metallic Pomegranate' as a base
♥ 'Lace' all over the lid
♥ 'Wrath' in the crease
♥ 'Envy' in the outer V
♥ Loreal Super Liner
♥ Benefit 'they're real' mascara
♥ Rimmel Stay Matte Powder
♥ Sleek Contour Kit
♥ Benefit Rockateur Blush
♥ Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick in '128 Starry Eyed'

There you have it! I cannot rave about this palette enough. Even though it is expensive for MUA, it is totally worth it. The actual shadows are huge so they wont run out quickly and the packaging is so much nicer than the regular MUA palettes.

Thanks for reading!

Eyeshadow Palette Wish List!

Hey there!

I've done a high end makeup wish list before on my blog and I really enjoyed writing that. It's good to refer back to when I'm eyeing up new products!

This is going to be the same thing, but with eyeshadow palettes instead. I LOVE eyeshadow palettes - I don't have time for individual shadows, no thankyou!
I've had my eye on these palettes for so long now - some more than others as some are recent releases. Enough blabbing though, Let's get on with it.

1) The Balm - 'The Balm Jovi Palette' - First things first, the name of the palette draws me in straight away. That's genius. The general theme of the palette is rock and roll - I love that. I'm in love with the packaging. The Balm clearly worked really hard on this, what with the heart mirror with the wings and the flames. I'm getting all fangirly just thinking about it! I wont talk about it any further, I just love it. Absolute GENIUS.

2) Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette - I know. Everybody has heard of this and it's very popular. At first I was like 'hmmm I'm not sure I like pink on my eyes, I love the first naked palette I don't know if i'll use this one as much bla bla'. Boy was I wrong! The more I see/hear people talk about this, the more I think HELL YES I want that in my life! After seeing plenty of youtube videos on this palette, whether it be tutorials or simple reviews, I can see that the pinks aren't unwearable. This was what I was worried about... however they're just gorgeous. I'll stop going on about this palette, I'm sure you've heard way more than enough about it already!

3) Lorac Pro Palette - Again, this is a very popular palette already. That's really the reason why I'm so excited about it - Everyone seems to love it! With the top row of mattes and the bottom of shimmers AND it being all neutral shades, woah man I think I need to sit down. It's so versatile because you can create a super sexy smokey eye with this palette or you can just create an everyday look. Perfect all rounder for me!

4) Urban Decay Vice 2 Palette - This palette looks incredible. The packaging is awesome - the massive mirror and the purple cover? I love that. I wasn't particularly fussed about the first vice palette... it was just like another neutrals palette. The Vice 2 however, has many different colours that you can use to create many different eye looks but they're not all that crazy and bright, y'know? It just seems very classy and something I need in my life.

5) Stila 'In the Light' Palette - I've mentioned this palette in a previous blog post, It might've even been on my last wish list. Nevertheless, I still haven't got it. I've heard so many people talk about this and say that the formula of the shadows is to die for. According to various people, the shadows are buttery and have great colour payoff without much fallout. Yes please!

6) Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette - This palette is my ideal palette. I've said before that I'm a massive neutrals girl, but this palette has many colours that you can use to give your neutral eye a little extra something. Apparently the shadows are made from cocoa powder? Who doesn't think that sounds amazing? Eyeshadow that smells like chocolate. Bloody Brilliant.

7) The Balm 'Nude 'Tude' Palette - I first heard about this palette from thatgirlshaexo on youtube. I love the names of the colours, 'sassy, selfish, sexy' like for real, that's amazing. I'm a complete sucker for things like that, packaging matters. Are you starting to see a pattern here? All these palettes are neutrals. I love me some neutrals! This palette will fit the bill perfectly.

8) Too Faced 'A few of my favourite things' Palette - I've heard so many great things about too faced but I've yet to buy one of their products. This palette is beyond beautiful. It comes with a variety of gorgeous shadows as well as two blushers and two bronzers. I await the day I have this in my collection.

 9) Sigma 'Warm Neutrals' Palette - Oh my gosh, how beautiful is this palette?! I really love warm toned eyeshadows as cool toned ones tend to make me feel a tad washed out... that's probably just me being paranoid but as a general rule of thumb I tend to reach for warmer colours. This palette has every kind of colour I reach for all in one place, and I know that sigma is of excellent quality.

 10) Costal Scents '252 Ultimate Eyeshadow' Palette - This palette literally has every colour under the sun. From bright colours to neutrals. It's not all that expensive either - even better! Think of how many looks you can create with this!! Very exciting. I'm in LOVE

There you have it - My eyeshadow palette wish list. I'm so excited now that I've written this post. Perhaps some shopping is in order....

Thankyou for reading!

FOTD: Vampy Cat Eye!

HELLO

I've been uploading many a blog post recently - many apologies. But I was bored and that led to me messing around with my makeup... Whoops.

I said in my last blog post that i'd recently fallen back in love with my naked palette (the original one!). I'd been neglecting the poor thing, I've been using other things. But I dug it out and created a natural smokey eye and paired it with a red lip!

Red lips are something I don't have to courage to wear on an everyday basis. I only wear red lips when I'm going out or it's a special occasion.

(Excuse the crappy pictures, I have terrible lighting in my house!)

Products on my eyes:

♥ Maybelline Color Tattoo in 'On and On Bronze'
♥ Naked Palette; 'Virgin' (Brow Highlight), 'Sidecar' (All over the lid), 'Darkhorse' (in the crease), 'Creep' (outer V)
♥ Maybelline 'The rocket' Mascara
♥ Loreal Paris Super Liner

Rimmel Kate Moss Lipstick in '107'

That's all from me, a very short post on a monday evening. This post was very spontaneous, I wasn't planning on doing it but I just liked the makeup look so I thought I might as well take some bad selfies and pictures of my eye and make a post!

Thanks for Reading!

Someday Summary - Sunday

Hello!

inspired by Zoella, I thought i'd do a 'someday summary' post today. I'm feeling pretty unmotivated today, what with it being sunday. I still wanted to post something though, so here it is!

I went back to my naked palette for today's makeup look. I used 'gunmetal' and 'creep' on my eyeballs. I'm still deciding if I like it or not.
♥ I've been jamming for most of this morning to 'On top of the world' by Imagine Dragons. I just love that song.
♥ I've also been really into Sherlock recently... Benedict Cumberbatch? Yes please.
♥ I think it snowed today... but i've been inside all day having a lazy day. There is no need to be outside on a sunday!
♥ I've been seeing the Too Faced chocolate bar palette all over the place! It's gorgeous and it has been added to my wishlist. Do you have that? Is it as magical as everyone says it is?!
♥ I've been so busy recently with college work - too many essays to write about crap that I don't know anything about. Not fun.

♥ As you can tell, I took ALOT of selfies today.
♥ If you're reading this, go check out my dear friend Sally's blog. It's great and I enjoy reading it, you will too;)
♥ Everyone has been obsessing over flappy bird - I'm terrible at it. I don't understand how people are getting such high scores.
♥ My collection lasting perfection concealer ran out today. HORROR. what do i do?! I'll have to treat myself to a new one. Such a shame.... wink.

I'll leave you with this terrible selfie:

You are WELCOME.

I'm sorry this post was fairly boring... I'm just feeling very chilled today and I didn't want to take pictures of a load of makeup just for the sake of it.
I'M SO SORRY DON'T THROW THINGS AT ME.

Just kidding;)

January Favourites

Hello Everyone!

I'm a little late. Better late then never! It's time for my January Favourites. This is something I didn't do last year... mainly because i hadn't been blogging for that long. This year I'm going to try and do monthly favourites often, not necessarily every month as I may not have enough to talk about!

ANYWAY. Let's get cracking!

Happy Hippy Shower Gel (Lush, £6.95 250g): I mentioned this product in my Lush christmas haul. This is only a teenie bottle - I'm still using my big bottle!
I can't rave enough about this shower gel... it just makes me feel all lovely and awake in the mornings. It smells like grapefruit, delicious!

Real Techniques Blush Brush (Drugstore £9.99): I love all the real techniques brushes and my collection is slowly growing! This is the newest addition to my collection. I'm in LOVE with it. I've been using mine for blush and sometimes I like to use it for setting powder. It's very soft, something I look for in a makeup brush. I've not yet seen any bristles falling out of it - that's a given with Real Techniques, they're amazing quality.

Benefit Blush - 'Rockateur' (£23.50): I've been obsessed with this blush ever since I bought it around christmas time. It's the perfect neutral shade (for me anyway!). It has a very subtle shimmer to it, which I don't mind. I've been using this on it's own without using a bronzer - It comes out darker on the skin than it does in the pan and I don't like to then pile a load of bronzer on too as I always fear that I look too muddy.

Heel Genius and 'The righteous butter' by Soap and Glory
Heel Genius Foot Cream by Soap And Glory (£5.50): I was given this incredible foot cream (that is the weirdest thing I've ever said) for christmas. I'm very happy with it- as I am with most Soap And Glory products. It's cool and refreshing on the feet and I love to apply it just before I go to bed and let it do it's thing overnight. When I wake up in the morning my feet are always lovely and soft.

Soap And Glory 'The Righteous Butter' (£2.50 50ml): Another one of my favourite body butters! I've been through so many of these little tubs! It smells delightful and even though it's quite thick and creamy, it doesn't go sticky and it dries quickly. I love that, I hate it when you have to sit around for ages waiting for the butter to dry.

Celebrate Body Lotion (Not sure of the price, it's a christmas limited edition product!): Gotta get the bad thing out the way first - I cannot stand the smell of this stuff. Lush claims that it smells like orange, almond oil and lime. I disagree, I think it smells like anti-bacterial wipes.. you know, like the ones you get to wipe your hands with at KFC? Yeah. I find that repulsive but luckily for me (this might be a bad thing for you) the smell doesn't linger after the lotion has soaked into your skin. I can get past the smell, I just have to make sure I don't inhale too deeply! The actual product is brilliant. After I came back from my holiday I had really dry skin (Does that happen to anyone else?) and this product was my best friend. It really helped moisturize my skin and made it feel soft and silky. It's a yes from me!

Maybelline Color Tattoo in 'on and on bronze' (£4.99): I've mentioned this product on a previous post, and I'm still loving it. Instead of a primer, I just pop this on my lid as a base. Sometimes if i'm feeling lazy I'll just apply this and a bit of mascara. Its great if you just want a wash of colour on lazy days or if you want a good base shadow that wont crease. This colour is the only one I have currently but I've got my eye on a few more;)

Nicki Minaj 'Pink Friday' Perfume (£33 100ml): Quite possibly the weirdest looking perfume bottle I've ever owned, but I still love it. This has been my holy grail perfume over this past month. Everytime I wear it I get someone asking me 'Ooh you smell nice, what are you wearing?' I just love it. As you might know, I'm terrible at describing smells and whatever I say will not do this and Justice. To me it smells sweet but not sickly, does that make any sense? Anyway. That's all I can say about that really - Go and have a whiff if you get the chance!

Sleek Blush in 'Pixie Pink' (£4.49): When I'm not using my Rockateur blush, I'm using this one. Its cheap but the quality is amazing. So pigmented! Sleek really know how to make a good blush! This is the perfect winter shade, giving you a 'I've been out in the cold' flush. It looks scary in the pan but believe me - with the right brush (real techniques blush brush *cough cough*) and a light hand, it's just perfect.

No7 'Eye Appeal' Eyeshadow Palette: You'll have to forgive me, I'm unsure of the price of this bad boy. I know it's not high end so it can't be that much of a bank breaker! I've done a FOTD post (click HERE) using this palette. I love everything about this product, the quality of the shadows are insane! As you can see from the swatches, they are highly pigmented and very neutral. Paradise! I'm a massive lover of neutrals and I feel like you can create many different eye looks from this one palette. I believe the first 2 are matte (I could be wrong... I got too excited with mine and now they're covered in glitter from the other shadows!) and the rest are shimmer. The black at the end is my favourite - black with red glitter in! *aliens from toy story voice* oooooooooooooooh.
A complete winner for me this month - Highly recommend.

Rimmel Kate Moss Lipstick in '107' (£5.49): I'm normally terrified of red lips, mainly because I never know what kind of eye to pair them with. However, this is a very dark vampy red and I have been obsessing over it. I'd show you the actual lipstick but I'm fairly sure there are teeth marks in it - what can I say, I love it! The pigmentation of this lipstick is incredible and it lasts for ages without needing to touch-up. The perfect combo!
L: Benefit They're Real
R: Maybelline The Rocket

Benefit 'They're real!' Mascara (£19.50): I've raved about this mascara before, but it's still been a regular item in my makeup routine. I cannot stop obsessing over it. I know a lot of people hate the plastic applicators but I actually prefer them. There is a picture of the wand in case you've not seen it, because my descriptions of things are dreadful. I love the little bristles at the top of the wand as they allow you to get into the little lashes in your inner corners. I'm not going to go on about this for too long as I'm sure there are plenty of full reviews on this if you're interested!

Maybelline 'The Rocket' Mascara (£7.99): Last favourite guys! So sad. But what a way to end - When I first bought this mascara I hated it - I didn't like the wand and I didn't like the formulation of the actual mascara. However I recently did a 'shop my stash' and I re-discovered it. Well let me tell you - It's magically turned into the perfect mascara! I guess now that it's had time to dry out a bit more it's less wet on my lashes. I'm not sure what it is but i'm so glad I gave it a second chance. The wand itself is HUGE, allowing your lashes to be more curled and voluminous. The fact that it's cheap makes the whole thing better.

That's it for my January Favourites guys! I hope you enjoyed reading this, I really enjoyed writing this one! I think I'm going to try and do these types of posts more regularly. Perhaps not every month, we'll see;)

Thanks for reading!
