Hello Everyone!
I'm a little late. Better late then never! It's time for my January Favourites. This is something I didn't do last year... mainly because i hadn't been blogging for that long. This year I'm going to try and do monthly favourites often, not necessarily every month as I may not have enough to talk about!
ANYWAY. Let's get cracking!
Happy Hippy Shower Gel (Lush, £6.95 250g): I mentioned this product in my Lush christmas haul. This is only a teenie bottle - I'm still using my big bottle!
I can't rave enough about this shower gel... it just makes me feel all lovely and awake in the mornings. It smells like grapefruit, delicious!
Real Techniques Blush Brush (Drugstore £9.99): I love all the real techniques brushes and my collection is slowly growing! This is the newest addition to my collection. I'm in LOVE with it. I've been using mine for blush and sometimes I like to use it for setting powder. It's very soft, something I look for in a makeup brush. I've not yet seen any bristles falling out of it - that's a given with Real Techniques, they're amazing quality.
Heel Genius Foot Cream by Soap And Glory (£5.50): I was given this incredible foot cream (that is the weirdest thing I've ever said) for christmas. I'm very happy with it- as I am with most Soap And Glory products. It's cool and refreshing on the feet and I love to apply it just before I go to bed and let it do it's thing overnight. When I wake up in the morning my feet are always lovely and soft.
Benefit 'They're real!' Mascara (£19.50): I've raved about this mascara before, but it's still been a regular item in my makeup routine. I cannot stop obsessing over it. I know a lot of people hate the plastic applicators but I actually prefer them. There is a picture of the wand in case you've not seen it, because my descriptions of things are dreadful. I love the little bristles at the top of the wand as they allow you to get into the little lashes in your inner corners. I'm not going to go on about this for too long as I'm sure there are plenty of full reviews on this if you're interested!
Maybelline 'The Rocket' Mascara (£7.99): Last favourite guys! So sad. But what a way to end - When I first bought this mascara I hated it - I didn't like the wand and I didn't like the formulation of the actual mascara. However I recently did a 'shop my stash' and I re-discovered it. Well let me tell you - It's magically turned into the perfect mascara! I guess now that it's had time to dry out a bit more it's less wet on my lashes. I'm not sure what it is but i'm so glad I gave it a second chance. The wand itself is HUGE, allowing your lashes to be more curled and voluminous. The fact that it's cheap makes the whole thing better.
That's it for my January Favourites guys! I hope you enjoyed reading this, I really enjoyed writing this one! I think I'm going to try and do these types of posts more regularly. Perhaps not every month, we'll see;)

Benefit Blush - 'Rockateur' (£23.50): I've been obsessed with this blush ever since I bought it around christmas time. It's the perfect neutral shade (for me anyway!). It has a very subtle shimmer to it, which I don't mind. I've been using this on it's own without using a bronzer - It comes out darker on the skin than it does in the pan and I don't like to then pile a load of bronzer on too as I always fear that I look too muddy.
Heel Genius and 'The righteous butter' by Soap and Glory |
Soap And Glory 'The Righteous Butter' (£2.50 50ml): Another one of my favourite body butters! I've been through so many of these little tubs! It smells delightful and even though it's quite thick and creamy, it doesn't go sticky and it dries quickly. I love that, I hate it when you have to sit around for ages waiting for the butter to dry.
Celebrate Body Lotion (Not sure of the price, it's a christmas limited edition product!): Gotta get the bad thing out the way first - I cannot stand the smell of this stuff. Lush claims that it smells like orange, almond oil and lime. I disagree, I think it smells like anti-bacterial wipes.. you know, like the ones you get to wipe your hands with at KFC? Yeah. I find that repulsive but luckily for me (this might be a bad thing for you) the smell doesn't linger after the lotion has soaked into your skin. I can get past the smell, I just have to make sure I don't inhale too deeply! The actual product is brilliant. After I came back from my holiday I had really dry skin (Does that happen to anyone else?) and this product was my best friend. It really helped moisturize my skin and made it feel soft and silky. It's a yes from me!
Maybelline Color Tattoo in 'on and on bronze' (£4.99): I've mentioned this product on a previous post, and I'm still loving it. Instead of a primer, I just pop this on my lid as a base. Sometimes if i'm feeling lazy I'll just apply this and a bit of mascara. Its great if you just want a wash of colour on lazy days or if you want a good base shadow that wont crease. This colour is the only one I have currently but I've got my eye on a few more;)
Nicki Minaj 'Pink Friday' Perfume (£33 100ml): Quite possibly the weirdest looking perfume bottle I've ever owned, but I still love it. This has been my holy grail perfume over this past month. Everytime I wear it I get someone asking me 'Ooh you smell nice, what are you wearing?' I just love it. As you might know, I'm terrible at describing smells and whatever I say will not do this and Justice. To me it smells sweet but not sickly, does that make any sense? Anyway. That's all I can say about that really - Go and have a whiff if you get the chance!
Sleek Blush in 'Pixie Pink' (£4.49): When I'm not using my Rockateur blush, I'm using this one. Its cheap but the quality is amazing. So pigmented! Sleek really know how to make a good blush! This is the perfect winter shade, giving you a 'I've been out in the cold' flush. It looks scary in the pan but believe me - with the right brush (real techniques blush brush *cough cough*) and a light hand, it's just perfect.
No7 'Eye Appeal' Eyeshadow Palette: You'll have to forgive me, I'm unsure of the price of this bad boy. I know it's not high end so it can't be that much of a bank breaker! I've done a FOTD post (click HERE) using this palette. I love everything about this product, the quality of the shadows are insane! As you can see from the swatches, they are highly pigmented and very neutral. Paradise! I'm a massive lover of neutrals and I feel like you can create many different eye looks from this one palette. I believe the first 2 are matte (I could be wrong... I got too excited with mine and now they're covered in glitter from the other shadows!) and the rest are shimmer. The black at the end is my favourite - black with red glitter in! *aliens from toy story voice* oooooooooooooooh.
A complete winner for me this month - Highly recommend.
Rimmel Kate Moss Lipstick in '107' (£5.49): I'm normally terrified of red lips, mainly because I never know what kind of eye to pair them with. However, this is a very dark vampy red and I have been obsessing over it. I'd show you the actual lipstick but I'm fairly sure there are teeth marks in it - what can I say, I love it! The pigmentation of this lipstick is incredible and it lasts for ages without needing to touch-up. The perfect combo!
