Face Of The Day - Smokey Eye

Hello Everyone!

Today I went a bit crazy with my makeup. I got no sleep last night so I was up very early and so I had more time to spend on my makeup. I decided to go all out and treat myself to a smokey eye!

I used one palette from no7, I've got no idea what it's called though (I'm sorry!). I got the palette for christmas and there is no name or shades on the packaging, there was a little plastic covering when i first got it which might have had the shades/name of the palette on it, but I was so excited I ripped that right off and started swatching.
This is the palette:

Sorry I can't remember the name of this beautiful palette!
If you own this palette or know the name of it, let me know! I've had a few people asking me today what I used on my eyes and I couldn't tell them!

I haven't photographed all the products I used today. Most of them have already been photographed on THIS post. So feel free to check that out if you're interested! If you want to see swatches of this palette comment down below or tweet me! (My link is ^^ that way)

ANYWAY, let's get on with it. Please excuse the terrible photos of me... it was 7am and i'd had no sleep.

Benefit 'They're real' Mascara - BRILLIANT
So that's pretty much it. Normally I don't go that smokey on the eye makeup but for some reason I thought it was a good idea today.

That's all from me guys! Thankyou for reading! <3

Soap & Glory 'Lid Stuff' Review

Hello All!

I am coming at you with a review today!
This product has become one of my everyday essentials over the past week or so. I've been meaning to review it for a while now but I wanted to wait until I'd been using it long enough for me to do a post! There's no point in using something once and doing a review on it, you need to give it time!

This product is a neutrals quad by Soap & Glory and it's called 'Lid Stuff'.

I just love the packaging!

I believe this quad comes in 3 shades going from lighter to darker colours. I got the one called 'whats nude' which i believe is the lighter one.

First off, I'm a big fan of the packaging. The transparent lid makes it easier to see what exactly you've selected for your eyes in the morning. We all have those mornings where you're half asleep and in a rush, just trying to pick anything and put it on quickly to be out the door. Yes, this is a great help! I no longer have to fumble through all my quads trying to find the right one. The packaging is also very sturdy and doesn't open easily, making it perfect for travelling with.

'Whats nude'

On the back of the quad it says '8 hour wear eyeshadow'. Now as much as I love this palette, I don't agree with that. I have used this palette both with and without a primer, just to see how well it worked. Like most eyeshadows, these do crease after a few hours if you haven't used a primer. But considering this is a drugstore brand, it wasn't terrible but I would recommend using a primer or an eye base (my personal choice would either be maybelline colour tattoo in 'on and on bronze' or the urban decay primer potion'!) first.
They do come off pretty sheer at first but you can build them up. This may be a negative thing for some of you but personally I love that about it. You can add just a wash of colour on lazy days or you can build them up to be very strong and smokey.

With 3 mattes and 1 shimmer this is the perfect everyday palette.

❤ 'Vanilla' is great for highlighting the brow bone and in the inner corners of the eye
❤ 'Mudhoney' is what i've been using to fill in my brows, because it's matte it does the job well!
❤ 'Aubersheen' is the shimmer shade. It's a great everyday colour
❤ 'Pink T' is good for all over the lid

I don't know about you but if I can find anything to replace 'Satin Taupe' eyeshadow by MAC, I will as it is my favourite. I think 'Aubersheen' is an excellent dupe for that. Obviously these shadows aren't quite as pigmented as the MAC ones but they're a good runner up! At £10 each, MAC shadows aren't the most affordable. Which is why i'm so happy I came across this quad. You get 4 shadows for the price of 1 MAC one - a great deal!

Just to prove my point, Here is a swatch of each of them:
Similar right?!
I will definitely be repurchasing this palette when it runs out. I cannot fault it - I recommend you give it a try!
It retails at £10. I bought it from Boots.  << I've dropped a little link there for you, should you want to check it out. (I suggest that you do!)

Thankyou for reading, I'll see you next time!

My Current Everyday Makeup Look!

Hello everyone!
I just thought i'd show you my everyday makeup look. This is something that I like to do when i'm in a hurry in the mornings and can't be bothered to do anything special, it takes no time at all!
I'm not wearing anything on my face other than a bit of concealer. The reason for that is because I don't like to wear foundation unless it is absolutely necessary, and I think I was having a good skin day today, so I didn't bother but normally I'd be wearing Rimmel's Wake me up foundation.
I'm also not wearing any bronzer/blush today either, just because I didn't think I needed to just to pop out shopping.
Please excuse my hair - It doesn't normally look this horrible! I just like to throw it up in a high ponytail when I haven't got time in the mornings to straighten it.

It's nothing special, but that's pretty much how I look everyday! I shall list the products used:

❤ Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer
❤ Maybelline Color tattoo in 'On and On Bronze'
❤ Mac Eyeshadow in 'Satin Taupe
❤ Benefit 'They're real' Mascara
❤ Elf Creme Eyeliner
❤ The Body Shop 'Born Lippy' In Raspberry

So that's pretty much it! I hope you enjoyed this, I'm sorry it wasn't a particularly long post but I wanted to do a post today but I wasn't sure what.
Feel free to leave me a comment down below letting me know what your favourite 'everyday' product is!

Thanks for reading!
Bye!

Lush Review: The Phoenix Rising

Hello All!

This post is just going to be a little review on a particular product I got for christmas from Lush. I mentioned this in my previous post ('Christmas Lush Haul').
The product in question is the phoenix rising bath ballistic. I was so excited to get this, it's so pretty and I'd never tried it before. However I was not impressed with it to be honest.

Before I tell you why I wasn't happy with it I'd just like to point out that it may not be ALL of these products that are like this - I may have just got a dodgy one. However I do not want to buy another one just to compare just in case its not a dodgy one and they're all the same. See what I mean?
The product in question - The Phoenix Rising Bath Ballistic
Anyway. When I put it in the bath, it didn't start fizzing straight away like most Lush bath ballistics do. I just assumed it was maybe a bit slower than normal? Don't judge me, I was being optimistic.
Needless to say, it didn't start fizzing. I had to crumble a little bit off the side for it to start fizzing.
Eventually after it had finished doing its thing, only the inside had dissolved. I was left with a purple shell floating around my bath.
(Sidenote: I mentioned in my previous post that I hoped the things on top of the bath bomb would dissolve. They didn't - they were having a little float in the bath too. Yuck)

I tried to crush the shell hoping that it would encourage it to dissolve. That didn't happen, it just left a purple kind of powder at the bottom of the bath.

Obviously like I say, I don't know if this bath bomb in general is just rubbish or if I got a dodgy one. I'm not going to be repurchasing it. I'm very unimpressed and a bit disappointed really... I absolutely love Lush products and I've never had a complaint before about anything I've tried, this would be the first.

If i'm just being dramatic and you've tried and loved this particular bath bomb, please let me know and I might actually try another one.
I'm sorry for this negative post, I just had to get this off my chest a little bit.
Happy new year by the way! I hope you had fun!
Love
Sophie
